    Splash screen for script

Ok, I see. So it's more for keeping things neat and 'modular' I suppose, so it's easier to see what's where and troubleshoot?

    Splash screen for script

I did try and kill the mshta.exe process but it complained about not having one of the variables declared. Plus, it isn't nice. I think I understand what you're after, but I'm not sure how to implement it. Do you mean that I could put the vbs inside the hta file, and then just have the...

    Help with PST move script

I've not had problems with running my script even with Outlook open when it starts, there's no file locks when it tries to move the PST's.

    Splash screen for script

Hi Guys, Now I have my PST move script working how I want it, I want to inform users that something is happening. I'm hoping a nice splash screen will stop the "Hey! Why is my Outlook flashing on and off" and "Hey, why isn't my computer loading anything else (CTRL+ALT+DEL, kill process)"...

    Help with PST move script

Closing it cleanly would be handy. I've found with my scipt that every now and again when it opens/closes word that it's upsetting a plug-in we use for our IPT Voicemail system. I've tried looking for code or switches that will suppress errors but can't find it.

    Help with PST move script

Hi Geates, thanks for the extra info. I've spent today scratching my head over the script and have managed to get it working, but in my own very crude and 'I-don't-totally-understand-vbs' way. In essence, because it would only work for the first store it read each team, I have installed a...

    Help with PST move script

Thanks Geates. The script I have above does exactly what I want, and works perfectly apart from the fact it will only do one at a time. It finds only local PST's, removes them from the Outlook profile and then copies them to the specified network location. Then it re-adds them to the...

    Help with PST move script

They have decided that the risk of loss from network corruption is far less than from hard disk failure. They figure that they will have copies on backup tapes should corruption occur. So, they still want me to get this working. I've tried the above suggestion of reading out of the array...

    Help with PST move script

We run exchange and have a network archive solution, yet people still like their own PST's sometimes. We reckon about 1500/5000 still have an archive PST stored locally. I like the file copy idea, but I think it will be hard to implement. We have a large population of laptop hot-deskers...

    Help with PST move script

strongm, it is indeed helpful. I won't shout at you just because it's not what I want to hear! I'll have a read of that link, thanks. Our problem is an XP upgrade program (yes we are only just getting to finish upgrading our 5000 computers to XP..) has accidentally deleted some local PST...

    Help with PST move script

Hi Geates, Thanks very much, I'll give that a go tomorrow when I'm back at work and report back on the outcome. Mark.

    Help with PST move script

Hi Everybody, I've cobbled together this script to move users local PST files to a network drive and then re-add them in Outlook. The main part of the script comes from http://halfloaded.com/ written by Andrew Healey & Nate Stevenson. There's also some manipulated extracts from...
