just out of curiosity..does your ISP allow port25 forwarding?
i have a smiliar setup
server1: win2k ad, SQL2k, IIS, CF 4.5 and mySQL all running on a celery 500 with 512 MB of ram fine.
server2: win2k ad, sql2K
i was going to install exchange but since my isp blocks port 25 forwarding, i...
yeah this problem is very common, especially when isntalling 3rd party apps that might have been written for win98 or even win2k but with no regards to permissions and groups (you'll notice the 'good' programs always ask "make this program available for everyone?")
if anyone has any...
Yeah, common problem with typical win2k installs...(pre sp2) is that it enables iis automatically. I'd suggest putting WWW serivce/IIS admin services on DISABLED, take any sharing you have on \inetpub off (default is c:\) - remove the admin share ($c) or reset the admin password asap.

thanks for your reply. Yeah I'm doing NAT on my netgear router which hides my 4 server LAN behind a non-static ip address (that I bind to dyndns.org service).
Anyhow, I've opened both port 1723 and 47 to forward to my VPN server ip: 192.168.0.99.
Hmm a static route..maybe? I'm assigning IP...
Greetings,
I have a small AD setup at home with 4 servers:
win2k server
AD MDC
RAS installed
DNS installed
ip:192.168.0.99
dns:192.168.0.99
gateway: 192.168.0.1
netgear rt314 router
dynamic ip from isp, using dyndns.org to bind
DHCP enabled
port 1723 forwarding to 192.168.0.99

what mode of TS are you running? Configure it to run in 'remote administrator' mode and you shouldn't have any licensing problems, just the limitation of 2 concurrent connections (which works out in your case since you only have 2 clients)
hey i have the EXACT same problem as you..error 721. I'm using a win2k pro client from work trying to connect to my win2k server lan at home. I have a netgear router, i've setup RAS using ms-chap2 PPTP and opened port 47 and 1723 on my router. ...
still doesn't work. I've allowed 'allow vpn...
Yep its doing NAT indeed. I'm routing from a public, dhcp assigned xDSL ip to my private ip range of 192.168.xxx.xxx.
I guess that's the problem ..I'd probably have to put the server on a DMZ which is a bad idea. I guess I'll stick to using the client software.

Oh and I think I mentioned it before, but I can use the TSAC fine when on a local intranet machine (192.168.0.xxx subnet.) The only problems are when I try to connect via the www through my router.
Hey Peter,
Yeah I made a mapping in my host file and I still get the same error (520).
The web client is working, as I can use it to connect to other terminal servers.
The only thing I modifed in the sample pages was the error codes. I used code provided by MS (this was only after I...
