This doesn't answer my original question.
I have read the warning and documentation however it is all greek to me.
What do i actually have to do?
As a SysAdmin I rely on my 2600 obviously but have never touched it.
I don't even know how to access the damn thing....

that's exactly right - the default setting is not to view the permission tab (would you believe i managed 2 years without it!!!!) now i've enabled it and i can set it up to "send as" - perfect - thanks!
I'm trying to do the same thing yet it doesn't work.
I have "send on behalf" permission set and am trying to use the "From field" however it still tells me i don't have permission to send on behalf of this user....any ideas?

I have the same problem, i can make the policy work on the server but not on the workstations!
poledit at least was straightforward.
