    unable to acess drive 1

    I just installed a brand new quantum 30gig hd on an IBM aptiva, it is a 120 pentium and originally had a 1.2 gid drive,the bios says that the drive is not installed ,all cables are conected ,am i missing something, i want to put a win ME os on the drive
