U mentioned win98... i found that if a win2k machine trys to access a 98 machine to see the shares it takes forever, microsoft tells me its because win2k machine is cheking to scheduled task (so it doesn't interrupt is my best guess) so if u know the drives name skip looking at the shares i.e...
I also have this prob... i have a win2k server with a win2k pro wrkstation and another win98 machine. my wrkstation takes forever in the applying settings part.. Login would take forever also, prolly because way profile or something was set, so no wi login to the machine instead of my server...
You could find a capture program a small tray program that captures the screen when you use a set keybaord shortcut, also you could try the "print screen" key and then just paste the clipboard in PSP...
