Ok well I got it to work to at least get into the system and make a new user. The issue (for anyone searching later on) was a simple one, Windows firewall was causing a connection issue.
We just got a Clariion CX-700 that we are going to be donating to a local tech school but we need to test it and make sure all the data is off of it. I found details how to attach a seriel cable to it and a laptop and create a PPP connection. When I do I put in the username and password that...
No, its a HP drive and HP sled. The original HP drive works fine in the sled. The new 6 that ibtried do not. I am wondering if it is ab personality bit or something on the firmware.
I just got a few LTO 4 drives (drive only no sled) and we put them in our L700 library (we took the sled from a faulty LTO 4 drive, both of these drives are HP) and reboot the library the drive cycles through the configuring / not communicate indefinetly and never becomes usable. HP said that...
I believe the cable is slightly different. There are also seperate sleds for IBM and HP that are not interchangable.
We have some that the drive cable that attaches it to the PCB board of the sled has just a small adaptor and they work.
I know the IBM Tale and Library tools can be used to update firmware, and the older (1.2 I believe, CLI) has a "microcode dump" but it makes a dump file but not a copy of the Microcode firmware
Its an old STK L180 that we are using for a test, I dont believe they have such a tool and if they did it is not under warranty so I doubt that they will be so inclinded to pass that along.
I have one IBM LTO 4 drive with firmware code B710 and I want the rest of them to be the same (some are A23xx, some are 97xx, some others as well)
Is there a way for me to make a firmware tape and then load that onto other drives, or use tape tools to do it? I have not been able to so far :(...
We have some older 9840 drives (firmware is above the required, its at 1.34 right now) and I want to enable Volsafe. When I try to it asks for a password (3 digit 0-f choices). Anyone know what that password may be?
We have a few tapes here that we are trying to help a colleague diagnose. They are Fuji LTO 2 tapes, when we load them on an LTO 2 drive they come up with a 6 error code on the LCD, which is a media related error, however the odd thing is on an LTO 3 drive they load fine and we can...
In order to avoid conflicts the home office is set up as 192.168.2.x with a 255.255.255.0 subnet, and I added this to the pool of the Avaya to assign to the phone. The rest of the internal network is 192.168.1.x

So I had purchased the whole IP office system from this one company, and then an upgrade later. We have 4 IP phones... now trying to get these to work they have just emailed me the job aids and I ask them specifics and help when its not...
well the business partner we bought the system from and then the upgrade from isnt very helpful. When I told them it was an ASA5505 I got this email response
"That’s a very complicated router – and beyond my capabilities. You will need an IT-type to set-up a VPN Client-based IPSEC tunnel...
