    Hi thanks all for the help, but I'm still stuck & its maybe because I'm not explaining clearly, this is the image I am using, it has several layers (elements) to it, I can drag or copy/past into PS no problem but cannot find a way of seperating & applying filters to each indizidual part...

    having it rasterized is not a problem, as its the effects I want to add that are important, the only way I can see to do it is to drag each piece of the artwork into a seperate page & add effect then, and then drag each component from its page to a 'host' page for assembly...............seems...

    yep, I release it, & every separate piece I can pick & move, but just cannot attribute any filter effect to any part.........just don't know what I'm doing wrong !!
