problem with fox2.6 dos under Win XP
You're putting it in the wrong place, ety1910. I only know NT 4.0 but on that system you'd put the FILES=xx command in \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG.NT. Win XP is probably similar. I'd be interested to know your impressions of running DOS FoxPro on XP. I've not been impressed with it on NT.- stoneman4

New processor and motherboard = hardly any performance increase
You might consider replacing the SDRAM with DDR memory. I'm assuming that your new main board supports both SDRAM and DDR. Those I've seen so far deliver disappointing performance when used with SDRAM.- stoneman4

Losing data
Hi mistanapesis; An overloaded power supply will cause the problem you are having. This might well be an issue with two fixed disks and two optical devices in a fast Athlon system. Cache problem in runing Foxpro 2.6 on NT 4.0
I know it's been a while, but I'm interested to know if this solved kanady's problem. I've got a similar issue in the same environment (DOS FP 2.6 exe on Win98 clients, WinNT 4.0 server) where data written to a dbf opened exclusively is apparantly not being updated on the server before the next...- stoneman4
