    Expand/Extend Logical Drive DL380 G2

Thanks for the info. The Compaq ACU installed on Windows does offer me the option to extend the logical volume. I was just concerned that it might dump my data. Is the SmartStart version of ACU different from what I have installed on the server? I will format the 2 old drives that I have...

    Expand/Extend Logical Drive DL380 G2

Hey guys, Found a quote on another thread by SPI200 in November '06 that says: "Once complete then using the HP ACU "Expand" the array which will allow the controller to take up the additional space which you have now installed (new drives). Follow this you then need to "Extend" the array into...

    Compaq DL380 G2 HotSwapHDD Upgrade

I would like to expand the existing 36GB array to full capacity (about 72GB) of the 4 new 36GB drives that I just installed. I do have the original SmartStart CD that came with the system. I will need to boot off of this to make this config change? When I was attempting to do it thru the Compaq...

    Compaq DL380 G2 HotSwapHDD Upgrade

Okay guys, it worked! :) I have replaced and rebuilt all four of the drives. I went to expand the RAID 1+0 drive from 36GB to 72GB and only find that I can create a new one. Looks like if I "delete last logical drive" I will loose everything. Am I reading that right?

    Compaq DL380 G2 HotSwapHDD Upgrade

Blister911, The existing 1st 2 drives are mirrored to the 2nd pair of drives. All 4 are 18GB each. All 4 I have replacement 36GB drives for. The drive in slot 0 is very bad. Slot 1 is intermittantly bad. This being said, should I now use a different approach to the replacement and subsequent...

Everything that is on the first two is supposed to be on the second two. (This is my backup, right?) The 18G in...
