Okay, this is weird... I just installed a fresh 4.0(5) Manager/VMLite then installed 5.0(15) over the top and it recognised and upgraded VMLite too. It didn't do that when I tried it on a different machine earlier (actually in use), very strange.
Anyhoo, for those who wish to install 5.0 and...
Hi all,
I'm upgrading a IP406v2 to 5.0 but Avaya have dropped support for VMLite and it can no longer be installed from the Admin suite setup. After having a look around the Admin CD (I'm using 5.0.15), VMLite is actually still there but the option to install it is hidden.
It looks like Avaya...
Thanks tlpeter. All of our modules run at least 4.0 (reported as 6.0+ in Manager) - I shouldn't need to use intermediate firmware then should I?
I've used a 3rd party TFTP server in the past because I thought there was a limit on how many handsets Manager could upgrade at a time. Is this no...
Hi Guys,
I'm moving over to 5.0 but it's been ages since I've done some core upgrades. From memory, the procedure I've got down is (we're running 4.0+ at the moment);
1 - Backup IPO configuration
2 - Upgrade IP Office Manager
3 - Run 3rd Party TFTP server (for handset firmware)
4 - Upgrade...
We use a mixture of VMPro and embedded but have one site with VMLite (there's only four people in the office).
I'd like to upgrade all IPO's to 5.0 - therefore would I still be able to run VMLite with 5.0 even though Avaya don't support it?
Thanks.
Can anyone confirm that Windows Server 2003 x64 is a supported platform for Phone Manager & VM Pro?
Avaya Technical Tip 198 mentions XP 64bit (not sure if it means the Itanium or x64 version) with big fat No's across the board.
I understand that 64bit drivers for the Sentinel Hardware Key...
Hi armriddle01,
FYI, it seems I've solved it! I had originally looked into an Assisted Transfer - but callers would get our rubbish on-hold music rather than a ringing tone.
Starting from scratch, I simply connected a Transfer (to User #2) to User #1's Start Point in VM Pro and when the call...
There might be a possibility to upgrade, would I need to upgrade both the Avaya system and the VM Pro?
I guess there's no timer function available in 3.2 that would do the job then?
Cheers amriddle01,
Ross
Thanks very much for the reply. I've followed your instructions and now the call goes to User #2's VM as required. Is there a way in VM Pro to give User #2 an opportunity to answer the call (say, 15 secs of ringing) before it goes to their VM?
I'm pretty new to Avaya stuff so appreciate your...
Hi All,
Hoping someone can offer some advice. What I'm trying to achieve; An external call comes through to User #1, User #1 is away from their desk so the call is forwarded to User #2, User #2 is away from their desk so the call gets directed to User #2's voicemail. Pretty simple.
I've...
