Hi again bcastner.
I spoke too soon the last time. After initially solving the problem, the file transfer bogged down again on the one box, with the same error message. What I tried next was reinstalling the reports that generate the .rtf files on each of the stations. These reports...
Dear bcastner,
Thank you for your time and effort. I've spent a lot of time on this and in the end, as usual, the simplest approach worked; I reinstalled MS Office on all 5 stations and this, for whatever reason, resolved the problem. Once again - thank you.

I just tried to xcopy the file. I got the same error message as befor with one exception: it began with "file creation error" instead of "cannot copy [file name]". It sitll lists a thread exit or an application request as the souce of the problem.

I'm currently using Paradox 8 with Win 98 but would like to upgrade my operating system. Can Paradox 8 work problem-free on Win 2000 and/or Win XP? Thank you for any assistance.

Is it possible to turn off the pop-up windows that periodically appear while using Windows ME. Also, if they appear while burning a CD, can it interfere with the data transfer.

I tried opnening a form in Paradox 8 and got the following error message:
"an error was triggered in the 'home' method on an object of T cursor type"; "T cursor not opened". Does anyone know to what this is referring because I can't seem to find it in the Help section...
