Using VB to send a command to 95/NT4 command prompt
I think the Shell function may accomplish what you are trying to do. Look at the example is VB help for syntax.- VolMac

If I OPEN LPT1 as a file (#1), PRINT to it, then Close (#1), the application locks up on the execution of the Close statement. I have to use Ctrl/Alt/Del to close the app after the lockup.
