We have a few accounts that seem to be getting locked out of the blue. The users assures us that they do not mistakenly type their password. We suspect that perhaps hackers have gotten a hold of the account and attempting to gain access. How can this be stopped?
Thanks for any info.
I know 2003 does not support BMR but did you have success fully restore a failed server using the ntbackup? Back in the days, it used to be a shot in the dark. More often then not, a failed server would be decommission and data would be restored to a new server. I am now stuck with a server...
1) how much does your database change? this includes rebuilding indexes
Very little. We have about 10 users out of which only 2 are considered heavy users
2) is the database in log shipping?
No log shipping. We have a single SQL2005
3) does it matter if point in time restore is lost for that...
We have a 20M database but a 140M transaction log file. Attempting to shrink the log files only gives me about 10M back. I have done tlog backups as well as full backups but the log file seems to stay the same. Would it be safe to setup the backup to simple then change it back to full after a...
Perhaps someone can shed some light. I have two VM environments: an enterprise 5.5 vcenter production environment and 5.5 esxi (free version) test environment.
I can add an ISCSI device fine to the vcenter but i cannot to the 5.5 ESXi. The iscsi device is an IBM EMC storage vmware...
Has anyone worked with Report Viewer 2015? Their website is thereportviewer.com. I have been tested the trial version and while I find it generic, the support is horrendous.
Thanks in advance.
Hi Neill,
I did. I can't explain it but I simply removed the drive mapping just created and re-added in the exact same way and miraculously it started working as it should. very odd.
Scratching my head here. I've been using a map drive policy for over a year. No issues. I've added another drive to the list the other day to the policy as i've done before. Every other drive is being mapped correctly except the newly created. I've verified drive permissions, shared...
Hi ntinlin,
I did this last night and surprisingly it went very well. All mailboxes were moved a while back but I've had just a few Arbitration mailboxes left. No public folders. After moving them, it was easy to remove the database. I was able to get back 12Gigs which I wasn't sure where...
Hi there,
Thanks first for your reply. Correct, looks like i still have some arbitration mailboxes (systemailbox, migration, and federatedEmail).
Thanks much. I'll give it a try over the weekend.
I've inherited an exchange 2013 setup. Upon examination of the databases size and location, i noticed that a generic database was setup for several users on the C partition which is taking up some much needed space. I've moved all the mailboxes to a different database and confirm that the C...
I keep getting spammed from this network 192.119.146.x. The IP and domains keep changing. Is there a way in Exchange 2013 to block the entire class network? I've attempted to add a mailflow rule (where recipient has the address) and bounced the transport service but it doesn't seem to work...
Getting frustrated with a user that gets disconnected several times a day. Not due to idle time but i witness this myself while doing a simple download, i get the warning "The connection has been lost. Attempting to reconnect to your session".
I've checked the internet connection, no issues...
Hi everyone and happy holidays,
I am struggling with the email issue. I want to have the library collecting attachments. What i've done so far:
I have an existing Exchange on property, however, all documentation i found related to this subject points me to these steps and were completed...
I don't see a Server2012 group so I figure this might be the place. I am struggling with a new server 2012R2 Backup. Simple backup to a network location. I don't believe has anything to do with storage because I mounted a USB drive and i get the same results. Backup fails as soon as it...
No reference to any audits but storing PSTs to a secure network location where only the IT and certain dedicated users have access , is no difference then securing your accounting files from anyone else. For most companies I've dealt with, is secure enough. However if the IT person is careless...
I was in a similar situation a while back. Taking that your helpdesk might be an external platform i.e. sharepoint, you can simply add the missing alias address to the itsupport mailbox. You are also not specifying what clients you use. But since you mentioned NK2 I can only assume outlook...
