We are shopping for a new router. Can someone recommend a Cisco Router.
Requirements:
- 1 PPPoe DSL Connection
- Require multiple users to have VPN Connection
- Easy to Config & Manage Firewall
I am trying to port forward my cisco 1811 router. From an external IP address port 5494 to local 192.168.1.100

Jeff, Thx for your input. Yes the DSL Connection is slower than the Static ISP.
How would I go about setting up BGP?

Their Example uses a DSL Connection and DHCP ISP.
Could I not do the same thing with my DSL Connection and Static ISP?

I have a Cisco 1811 Router, which I configured for 2 WAN and 1 LAN.
1 WAN is a Static IP (FastEthernet1) and the other is a DSL Connection (FastEthernet0).

Are you able to connect to your router via telnet...
If you can, I suggest you try pinging your name servers.
If that works, try ping www.google.com
It should first resolve the name and then ping the IP Address.
Found the problem, ip routing was turned off.
I didn't see until I read another post about having problems pinging.
The config file had:
no ip routing
Once I enabled ip routing it worked a charm.
