i finally found the a way around the prolem. to disable offline personal folders you uncheck cached exchange mode as chipk said then click on more settings then select offline personal folders and then disable offline personal folders.

I've used Vista, and I've used Windows XP SP2. Vista was extremely slow compared to XP. Thus, I am content to stay with XP. XP is the OS of choice for my four computers.
