I just wanted to thank everyone for their input. I don't understand why Cisco would porvide a range without a prefix. In any event, if the question indicates that the ISP provided the range, it has to have a VLSM mask (unless you purchase a class c).
But thanks again, you guys are great
I recenty took the CCNA exam and came across the following issue
You are given an ip range of 172.16.1.50 – 172.16.1.59 from an ISP. Can you determine the prefix by adding up the number of IP addresses, and finding what VLSM block size they fit into (172.16.1.50/28) for purposes of creating an...

Let me see if I understand this....
If i connect the dce end of the cable to a serial interface, that will make that interface dce?
The state of the interface is a function of the cable type plugged into it?
I thought I tried various combinations with several interfaces and routers. But...
I go into serial0/0 and input clock rate 64000 I get the message Can't configure clock rate on a dte interface. I tried switching the cable to the DCE side, and get the same results.
thanks
I bought several 2500 series routers off ebay to start a lab. Some serial interfaces are DTE, and some are DCE. Is this configurable or hard coded???
I searched high and low, and couldn't find the answer.
Thanks guys

I will send the config along tonight. The lab is at home. If you have a suggested config I have no problem starting from scratch.
The only static route I have configured is the default route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 s0
Thanks so much for your help

I do a de bug eigrp nei, and get no output.
If I do a sh cdp...
Hey Guys
I'm new to PIX and trying to determine it's capabilities. I have geographic redundancy to a single ISP. I want to route specific subnets (VLANs) through one edge router and the balance through the other.
Can this traffic shaping be done via the PIX?
If so, any suggestions how to...
