Let me reiterate what fumei said regarding the store location of macros. Normal.dot resides locally, and thus is not backed up in most office environments.
Here is the basic logic I need--I just don't know VBA:
Goto Bookmark1 (which is in a table cell)
Select cell contents
selection=Group1
for N=1 to x (the x variable is set earlier in the macro)
move down one cell
select cell contents
selection-Group2
IF Group2=Group1, then delete...
I'm on a big (rush, as usual) project, and I need to know if it is possible to use a command line string to have acrobat reader open a PDF to a specific bookmark?
The size of the table will vary--anywhere from 20-200 rows. In addition, it will not be the only thing in the document--it's part of a template, and the table will be in between other document elements. That's why I was thinking of the For loop.
This will be a macro for Word 07. I've got some code that extracts info from Access and puts it into a table in word:
Row-----heading------text
1----------A-----------------yada yada
2----------A-----------------whatever
3----------A-----------------yawn
4----------B------------------hello...
Word 07
I'm working on a project to automate document generation. To do this, I need to be able to input some variables, and then replace certain strings in the document with those variables.
I've managed to cobble together the following code, but it isn't working.

I have a colleague working on a presentation. He is pasting some material from an existing presentation into a conference template prepared by our company. When he does this, the text in all of his text boxes is converted to subscript. The same thin happens if I bring the slide in w/ the...
I'm running into the same problem, only the only way I can get the book to update is to have the "offending" file open during the update.
Some of this nonsense is really starting to get on my nerves. If I had wanted an unpredictable authoring tool, I would have stuck with Word.
Frame 7.2 has been making me a little crazy lately. I keep getting messages about unresolved cross references when I open a file, but when I do a find, I get nothing.
Has anyone else run into this?
I thought this would be simple, but . . .
All I want to do is place a text frame callout on top of a graphic. The frame is filled with white to make the text legible. I have no problem getting the frame in place, but formatting it properly is eluding me. The top line of text is placed right...
Working on a tracking database for my own use. One of the things I want to do is to be able to enter a path/filename for a given Framemaker file, and to be able to open the file from the form.
Here's how I would like it to work:
When entering a new record, have a browse button next to the...
I have an old document, created w/ Acrobat 4.0 (PDF version 1.3). The document displays fine, but if I print it, certain characters are occasionally changed. For example, an upper case O prints as a lower-case, superscript "a", and ampersand is printed as "C", etc. Always the same...
I haven't had much luck with this feature so far. Anyone else getting anywhere?
In one instance, all I got were the headings--all of the body text and graphics were gone.
In another, some of the graphics were gone, all the text was there, but a blank page was inserted between every page of...
In Word, you can change the background shading at the paragraph level, so you could to draw attention to a particular paragraph by adding a 20% grey background to the paragraph. Can the same be done with Frame?
Working w/ Frame 7.2
I've designed a new layout for our documentation, and while I've got a nice design for a chapter header, I can't figure out how to achieve it in Frame w/o having to do it manually for every chapter.
It looks kind of like this:
XXXXXX
XXXXXX
XXXXXX...
I've been tasked with overhauling the format and layout of our software manuals. The manuals are currently in ~800 Frame files, using a single set of formats.
Once I've created a new template, it's easy enough to use the import format function to replace the formats in a single file.
Is there...
