This is a typical SBS2003 problem.
It happens now and then, and no-one knows
how to fix it. It might have to do with
incompatible ethernet cards and recent upgrades.

I allocated 10 GB to C: at the time, but it ended up to be too small after afew years. I had user data and program files on E and D respectively.
Be careful when repartitioning, however.
I ended up with non-contiguous partitions, and
SBS finding the spaces between them, and allocating
drive...
