Thanks all. I think I got it.
A rather convoluted routine for doing something that should be so simple. Certainly not very intuitive - leave it to Adobe to complicate a simple process. Makes me miss the good ol' days when PS was all raster based.
I'm so !@#$ frustrated with photoshop CS3 I can't see straight. ALL I'm trying to do is create a line using the pen tool and "stroke" it. I create a line using the pen tool in "shape layers," but when I finish, the "edit > stroke" command in the menu is grayed-out. What gives?
I have a B&W project. All of my photos are grayscale. If I print the project from InDesign everything is fine, however if I export it as a PDF file and print from it, the B&W images are slightly colored. I suspect it's a PDF engine problem. No, I am not using rich black.
Has anyone come up with a fix for this problem?
I have been having the exact same problem. My entire project is in black & white with halftones. Whenever I add an effect (glow, shadow, etc...) the grayscale photos all dim. This seems to be a WYSIWYG problem. The photos are not dim on the final...
Yep, got my bleeds 1/8 inch past the page edge except at the gutter or spine edge. I'll talk to the printer after the holidays.
Happy turkey day guys and thanks for the input!
I've ended up puting in hard carriage returns where I want the graphic to be. The right is ragged instead of justified, but hey, what can ya do - It's a kludge.
Does anyone know how I can have text in a footnote wrap around an object? The footnote text is covered by the object, however if I move the object in the copy above the footnote the text wraps fine.
Thank you for the reply! I will need to talk to my printer about this, but he would like the book in pdf format. I imagine if he wants the pages in printer spreads, I will have to combine all of my separate chapters into one file and use "Print Booklet..." (I can't find this option in the book...
I'm designing a book with each chapter in a separate file. The file is setup as reader spreads beginning with a single odd number page and ending with a single even number page. I then combine the files using Indesign's book feature and export the "book" as a pdf. What I expect to see in the pdf...
