I think I figured it out. I guess an empty database has to be in place first so you can assign a PW to SYSDBA? I created one with dbca then went through the duplicate steps and it seems to be fine now.
Nowhere in the RMAN duplicate stuff I was looking at did it say the db had to be...
Greetings,
I'm trying to setup a second db server using RMAN DUPLICATE. I've gotten the connection working, but it seems my sysdba user on the auxiliary box doesn't have the right privileges to it's own database? I've created the password file in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs so that shouldn't be the...
I've been implementing some AJAX/Javascript and have been playing around with some dynamic forms. I'm using AJAX so that when a user enters data into a textbox, AJAX validates that data and then creates a new textbox so they can enter more data to be validated. I'm trying to figure out how to...
Hi,
We've got a print server running on W2K3 in another department...it is not a DC. The printers from this print server are listed in an OU in AD. The problem is these printers will regularly disappear from AD and the only way to get them back is to go to the printers and delist/relist them...
Yes, I just now saw some references to using HTA with VBScript. I think this is the way I'm going to go. Have you or anyone else got code samples I could look at that does something like what I'm looking for?
I think I may have written a .HTA logon script several years ago at the last company...
I am trying to do the following.
1) Query AD for the list of printers in the users OU.
2) Present the user with the list of printers in a dialog box of some type that they can select/deselect.
3) Install or uninstall the printers as necessary.
1 and 3 I've got down. I can pull the printer...
I'm working on setting up a MythTV server. Apparantly the PVR card I've bought (PVR-350) is new enough to require a patch be applied to tuner.c/tuner.h in the kernel(2.6.9-1.681_FC3). I've successfully applied the diff patch to the tuner.c and tuner.h files. I'm stuck now though on how to...
To add to Provogeek...
Zen6.5 includes the new Linux Management stuff..which I think is basically "Red Carpet" (Ximian?). The Patch Management piece of Zen6.5 currently runs on Windows only but I've heard they're working on getting it over to Linux as well.
I have no experience with the...
From what I've read, MSI apps do not need to be given elevated privileges. The privileges are already built in to the MSI installer. There was a long thread about this recently on the Novell ZfD4 App Launcher forum I think.

Have you patched your ZENworks server to the latest version? IR4 is the release number. It has a new ZfDAgent with it as well.
Another thing to check is your video drivers. There sometimes is an issue with the Remote Control mirror drivers in the ZFDAgent. I've had problems with my Matrox...
Which Novell Client version are you running? Since you are running ZfD 4.0.1 on the server you should be running the 4.0.1 ZfDAgent on your desktop, not the old 3.2 files included with the Novell Client.

I haven't seen anyone mention PHPWebSite yet. http://phpwebsite.appstate.edu
I've got it setup on my NetWare 6.5 server at home and have experimented with it a bit. It looks good, and is pretty easy to manage. My test site is pretty basic, but I've seen others that have some pretty good...
GarryThompson,
If you see this post, I'd like to speak with you about setting up a single ZENworks image that works across all platforms as you referenced in an earlier post. We're having a problem where if it's a different chipset/motherboard, after imaging and restarting, the PC will freeze...
Hello,
I've got a section of code below that I want to execute the WinXP SP1 install. I've tried mapping a drive as you see below...and also just using the straight UNC path. Neither works. For testing purposes, the script echoes out the current SP version, click OK and it should run the SP1...

August 15th...since it's in an actual PR I'm hoping it won't slide back again. If you haven't tried it out, download the NW6.5 beta. Lots of cool new features.

I'm not positive, but I don't think Ghost supports Netware either. If you're looking for that kind of a solution then I think Portlock Storage Manager might be what you want to look at. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

I've had some experience with Multitech's VOIP stuff. It worked really well in our situation. Several bank branches that were connected via T1 and a few via DSL. The quality of the call was not bad at all.
They were a bit of a bear to get configured correctly. There were patches/firmware...
When I've done this, I've just taken my route statement and put it in rc.local. It runs every time the server boots up.
Never had any problems doing it this way. Is there a better way anyone?
