i have seen those programs, but i shouldn't have to convert the file in that way. (and i don't want to either, as there would undoubtedly be a loss in quality and the program cost money, my way uses free software).

yes they are set to stream.
my concern is that the audio video is in (relatively good) sync when the file is a .swf but when exported as an .avi it is no longer in (relatively good) sync.
so.
i create backing tracks/video synced with audio in flash (like basic kareoke and a metronome).
anyway, when outputted as a .swf they are all good.
however now i use my iPod at gigs and export the flash file as an AVI file then convert it to an MP4 file and the audio video is all out of...
