Won't place tif file when extension is spelled tiff.

Won't place tif file when extension is spelled tiff.
Help! I have a co-worker who is trying to place tif files in a document. All of her art is saved as *.tiff and PageMaker won't automatically recognize the file since tif is spelled tiff on the file extension. Is there a way to fix this (without renaming all of her files)?
