I got used phone loaded with 3.0 firmware. Configured the phone and hooked to the CallManager.
After some time it upgraded to 6.0 without me knowing.
I read on the Cisco site that firmware after 5.0 are irreversible.
How is that affecting user like me ?
What is the benefit of having old firmware?
It looks like
pvdm-256K-8 has 256k cache comparing to the plain pvdm-8
I wonder how is the perfomance of pvdm-8 on cisco 1751.
Cisco 1750 doesn't support HC codecs and that's probably the reason for the lack of the 256k cache.
Per Cisco site:
pvdm-256K-8 is for 1751 router
pvdm-8 is for 1750 router
They are expensive and pvdm-8 is what I got.
I put it in Cisco 1751 router and it is recognized by IOS.
I would prefer to use it if possible.
My lab will use mix of analog and IP phones like 7960.
Is PVDM required on...
Just for the record
I added today 64MB stick to my 1750.
It didn't recognize any memory beyond 48MB limit.
On the other hand, my other router 1751 happily took the 64MB stick and now shows 96MB DRAM.
When I google for that IOS image, 1751 comes up.
That would explain the crash.
but my question still stands
Would 1750 accept 64MB stick?
There is many ebay listings indicating 1750 as one of the compatible routers.
Hi
Has anybody tried to put more memory than factory recomenned.
per technical specification:
max 16MB flash
max 48MB DRAM (16MB on board/32MB extra stick)
I don't understand why this router has 16MB flash if putting IOS image bigger than 7MB crashes the router.
After logging into router I get...
