Have you tried booting to safe-mode, administrator, control panel, user accounts and changing it that way? Sometimes the Administrator account has a blank password.

Aloha 5.0.3.3 I have the BOH Server up and running. I have tried re-installing the terminals mapped the drive, and reinstalled from the server, but when the terminal boots up it, nominates itself as master after 1:00 minute(because its the only one running) then comes to the "Make File Server"...

Yes I can browse to and from the terms to server and server to terms. The main term is WIN98...Stop laughing. So I tried to make number 2 (WIN2K as id BOH)to # 1 and the term still went to "make fileserver", I have tried magnetic cards and all the passwords/empoyee numbers and they all show...

Thanks for your help. I see the error of my ways. The Server is trying to take back Fileserver role and the terminal is wondering if it should make itself the fileserver. And the downtime.ini files. Funny story about those. Seems I got over zealous and deleted them earilier in the week...

Can you boot to safe-mode and not have the machine shutdown? Have you tried plugging the machine into a different socket? Is your power strip failing? Is your area experiancing brown-outs? Have you tried disabling the Boot LAN allow lan to put to sleep allow lan to wake, or allow NIC to...

Have you tried removing the battery to see if it is the souce of heat? It is dangerous to keep it out but if you keep it on a cooling stand it is off the table away from spills. Best of Luck Tim

Have you changed the fan on the CPU? If the fan stops the system stops. Heat Kills. I have had 2 cases of it this week. What temp is the room the cpu is running? 68 to 70 F anything higher will cause degredation to the electronics faster than normal. Tim

Did the drive work in the 2000 server? Get a usb thumb drive or external hard drive. Have you tried different pin settings on the drive? CS or Slave. Have you used the bios to find the drive? Download a torrent of 2000 and use MAKEBOOT to see if you can fix the boot sector/ MBR. Best of...

Go to the site for your printer manufactuer and download the newest drivers for your make and model printer. Uninstall the the printer then try reinstalling it. Vista should then take a fresh look at the connection request. Tim
