    Thanks for your reply. Original file was locked! I have unlocked but still the file wont open. I've tried copying to new discs but no joy. Don't wont to dump preferences. Will keep trying. Cheers

    Thanks for your reply. I produced the doc on my mac preflighted/packaged i then saved it to the desktop. I then copied everything on to a dvd. Now I want to open the document from the dvd but can't. Also on th dvd is the cover which i can open.
