It seems just about every 2 weeks Galaxy will essentially stop performing and all admin/DR jobs will not even attempt to run until the services are refreshed (or the server is rebooted). This is on a Windows Server 2003 R2 system, examples of the faulting application errors are below:
"Faulting...
I am seeing a similar issue with a group of WinXP clients connecting to 10.1.6.6 System Center, I have some remote clients that are on a wide range of virus defs from a few days behind to almost a full year behind yet they are connecting into the SAV server daily. I have one of the clients...
They are removed from the disk if they meet their retention criteria and have been copied to appropriate secondary copies."
If I am only using backup to physical disk for short durations what would an "appropriate secondary copy" consist of?
You think so NATD? I will have to try disabling that option and see what happens. Another question, if I do disable that will it go back and start removing old data or will I have to manually remove the older data that I no longer need?
So as an example of one of the storage policies I have set, under the retention tab:
Enable data aging checked
Enabled managed disk space for magnetic data checked
Basic Retention Rules for all backups:
"retain for 7 days and 2 cycles"
To me this means backups older than 7 days should be...

I think we pinpointed the issue this afternoon in our test environment. Our test environment to start had the VPN server connected directly to the Cisco ASA and then to a 3com switch for the inside servers...file copies were fast as expected. Once we realized the setup was not the same as...
Very very slow, even attempting to copy a very small executable (244KB) takes a good 50 seconds before the "preparing to copy" dialog box comes up when in reality it should take maybe 1-2 seconds to completely copy at most. The only other iffy area I am thinking about is maybe the interface...
I am experiencing very slow backup performance when initiating a full system backup between the Commserve which exists on the inside network and our VPN server which exists in a DMZ. When performing a full system backup on a system within the inside network, performance is in the average range...
Thank you very much for that breakdown, that does help clear up some things for me a bit. I guess my next observation is that Galaxy Express does not have the "schedule policies" feature (it's something they deemed only necessary for Galaxy Enterprise I guess...). So if I understand what you...
Hello, I am new to Commvault and just purchased 7.0 Galaxy Express Email & Server Edition last week from Dell. I have installed the CommCell and Clients without issue (other than having so many options on custom install to choose from). Where I get confused is what the difference/correlation is...
