    So on the side it has a section of 2x4 pins. Usually that controls slave/master and 1x4 does the 1.5/3.0. At least I thought. So on my other 3.0 hard drive (my motherboard only supports 1.5), I had to switch the jumper settings to cover the last two pins. So I'm not sure where to put them on...

    Another little update. I did try it in its own computer and it turned on, so the drive obviously works. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong so that it doesn't even turn on. When I plug the same cables into my other hd, they work fine.

    One additional piece of information. The hard drive is not on. This is almost worst, since its plugged in. Now I'm even more confused. Any ideas?

    So I was installing Ubuntu on my family's dell computer and during the partition I ran into some problems. It already had Dell Utilities and Dell Recovery partition. It said I couldn't have more than 4 primaries, so I just thought I would delete Utilities because I figured it would be useless...
