Our current NetWorker server has a single GigE connection, and a static IP address. I have been able to finagle another network connection. What would the best method of adding this connection be? Its an HP Proliant server, so I could use the HP network card teaming drivers, but I dont know if...
I have a large file server, with several (10 or so) different save sets running. For its first full backup, which ran last weekend, it seems as though all the save sets finished, in around 13 hours, but for some reason the client job continued to run for another 4 days. If I looked in the...
You have NO idea...the pain...the horror...the agony of managing these fileservers....its a good thing i dont keep any sharp object, rope, or hemlock near my desk
:)
I'll try the local directive route.
Thanks all for the assistance. Still hving some problems though.

To the post about local directives...is there anything you need to do to allow them? Or will the always be used unless specifically excluded....and do they play nice with server based directives?
I should probably get to a NetWorker class eh?

So use "always" first, before the "skip" exclusion?
Upgrade probably wont help, already on 7.3.1
Downside to this now is that if a new file is added, it won't be covered...
And in a "Skip" "null" or "Always" what do you do for a file or directory that has spaces in it?
Here is the folder

Thanks so much!
Any advice on increasing the parralellism of the tape drives? How much is too much? The built in default is 4, the max is 512....thats a lot of room in between. Anyone have experience in finding a comfortable middle ground?
Thats a bummer....theres around 75 directories or so under d:\shared and only maybe 6 or 7 are large enough to warrant their ows save set. If I do that tho, is there any way to get all the others without having to specify them in their own individual sets?
Hello all...
I have several extremely large fileservers that require backup. A typical example is below
c: 10G
d: 300G
e: 600G
f: 400G
So far, I am backing up each filesystem as its own saveset. But would like to break it down even more, to get more streams going. Problem so far is that the...
I have a folder, several layers deep that needs to be skipped on any drive (Windows machines)
c:\Program Files\Quest Software\Quest Storage Suite\
The folder in this path "FileTracker" must be excluded, along with any subdirectories or folders.
Anything else under the described path must be...
