Yes I am trying to monitor why IT assistant is reporting a shutdown... I am pretty sure that its a false alarm since I don't see anything in the logs... But I want to know if it is losing network connectivity for a while and thats why IT assistant does not see the system or what else could it be...
I have four servers running windows 2003 and they are at different sites running as Domain Controllers... In one server I have IT assistant installed and on the other three I have open Manage... One server always reports to be shutting down, but when I checked the log nothing happens... I want...

Ok, I have a 2621 router and two 3550s. I got a T1 and users are complaining of slow network connection... How can I know which resource is consuming the most bandwidth on my network... I got into the switch and started checking for the interfaces to see the packets... Is there another way so I...
I have a 1200 series AP which I am trying to connect to a PowerDsine to supply the power... I have a 3550 switch connected as well... so i plug the AP to the Power/Data port on the PowerDsine and the Data port on the PowerDsine to the 3550 switch and nothing happens... Is there any configuration...
yes both setup for trunking and yes spanning-tree enabled... back to the original question... I was told that you could loop back the interface to see if it goes up and down or if it stays up then the gigabit port is good... can anybody help on how to configure the port for loopback testing???
This switch is in production, that will be one reason why I cannot restart the switch. The main indication is that the switch was getting the fiber feed on gig0/2 and working fine, until two days ago when no link was seen... I configure gig0/1 and swapped the fiber to that port and boom switch...
Ok, I have a 2950 Series switch and I think one of the Gigabit ports has failed gig0/2. What is the command to set a loopback test on that interface??? Thanks
i installed WSUS on 5 domain controllers at different sites. the idea is that the main site will have the WSUS that will be downloading the updates. the other 4 domain controllers will pull the updates from that domain controller and those 4 domain controllers will be managing their own sites...
I installed WSUS 3.0 on five domain controllers and the installation went flawlessly.. However, there is one machine
that gave me a snap-in error... When I open the WSUS it does not display the machines and all the options on the right hand side as the other ones do... Any ideas on how to solve...

Hey guys, I have a little problem, I just upgraded my domain controllers from Win2000 to win2003. When the process was done, I guess one of the other techs did not demote one domain controller properly and now under the authorized dhcp servers I have two domain controllers which are not promoted...
The DHCP won't authorize, even though it appears on the authorized servers. It still shows red and not authorized on the MMC. Right-clicking the server in the MMC would only allow you to Unauthorize. I have restarted the DHCP service and no luck. I did see another server on the authorized list...
Yes, there is an error saying "The DHCP/BINL server on the local machine, belonging to the Windows Administrative domain has determined that it is not authorized to start. It has stopped servicing clients." I must say that this is one domain controller, but its not the master domain controller.
I have a Domain Controller in which I run DNS, DHCP, etc..
Well everything was working flawless until yesterday that the
server stopped the DHCP. The domain controllers DHCP has been authorized and the scopes are activated...However, it shows as unauthorized and when I right click to authorize...
