I hope you have solved this issue by now, but if you haven't go to File > Preferences > User Preferences.
In the mail tab there is a field for address books. When Notes starts up the first address book listed in this field is the default address book used.
To change the default address, move...
Install Notes on the new PC. Copy the entire 'Data' folder from the old PC and replace on the new. This assumes that the .id file is located in this folder. All local DBs are by default stored in this location, so any archives or address books stored locally will be moved also.
Most of the time, programmers look for the most straight-forward and -dare I say - easiest solution. Most of the time I'm no different.
I guess I am just looking at doing it different than the norm. If time allows I'll persue the API, but if not, I already know the straight-forward approach...
I am looking to launch an instance of Notepad from a windows form and pull string data from a textbox to that instance. I want to allow the user to edit this data and then upon closing Notepad (not sure how I'll capture this), return the new string data to the form's textbox.
There just isn't...
Thanks what I figured. I plan on doing that. Maximo was recently purchased by IBM, and they have taken over support. I'm sure you can figure out painless that will be.
:)
Thanks for your assistance.
Yea, I was thinking it was in the ODBC setup buried deep somewhere, and what you are saying making sense. That particular PC was used at the onset when installation and development was going on.
Any idea how to correct it?
Hey Denny. The application is Maximo (Ver. 4.11), an enterprise asset management app. After lookng at it more yesterday, I suspect that it could be specific to the application. Unfortunately, I have only a few other DBs running on that SQL box, and they see very few connections, so that thoery...
I have been having issues regarding hung processes lately and have spent more time than usual looking at the Current Activity of a particular DB through EM. I have noticed that I have a large number of connections which all display the same Hostname although the Net_address information is...
Basic need to know:
This is (English) Notes 6 client install on a multilang (Japanese) windows XP local environ and Novell File Server.
User tries to add an attachment to an email. When user browses for file on a network drive there are multiple folders showing which do not exist. All the...
Thanks CMP. I was thinking generally along those lines. You're correct in assuming that I want to create a new table to work off of.
I will probably move forward with something similar to this. My only concern would be with the assumption that fields would remain in order in tableA - a,b,c. I...
Ok. Here is what I'm dealing with. I have TableA which is structured like this:
ItemID, S1F1_a, S1F1_b, S1F1_c, S1F2_a, S1F2_b, S1F2_c...
and so on where the F# in the field name changes up to F9 and then the S# increments going up to S5F9_(a,b,c).
Ideally, the table should be structured like...
I have a similar setup in which the File and Print is managed on a Novell box but there are applications which are located on either a 2000 or 2003 server. I don't create individual user accounts on the windows server. I create a generic account and share folders using the generic...

Have you determined what is the culprit? Here are a few ???s that may help shed some light on the probelm:
-What must you do in order to get them back on the network?
-Is their login successful after 12 hours, 24 hours, etc.?
-Do you have group or context restrictions, and if so...
In a table there is a field 'id' of type 'varchar' that at one time had a prefix. I want to go in and remove that prefix from the values.
Not all values have the prefix so I will select only those records.
Example Value: A00-123456
Goal: Remove the 'A00-' from the field
Thanks for the help.
His arguement is that in order to use some applications (like Symantec's Corporate Virus Software Mgmt. tools) he needs the admin share and w/ File and Print on it forces the Guest account. What he has done however, is allow himself to have full access to the local drive on every PC in the...
This is not my area of knowledge, so I am completely ignorant about this. A fellow IT person in my dept. is turning off File and Print Sharing on all PCs to expose the Admin share to see the local drive. We use Novell for file and print and have limited extenal exposure. He undoubtedly has no...
Thanks for the info. I was a little too basic then.
Follow-up question:
Is there a way to grab (export) a db maintenenace job's details?
I'm needing to outine the backup strategy to include frequency and times in a company policy and subsequent procedure.
Thanks.
I am looking for other people's opinion on how much how or little documentation (printed or electronic) they create concerning databases for one instance of SQL. Also, what information do you record and what format do you prefer?
I've never worked for a company that pushed documentation past a...
