But anyway, if you install CallManager on other applicance than those recommended you won't have Cisco support in case of any troubles because of this.
What I know in Callmamager 5.0 is that allowed specials characters for UserID, password, LastName, MiddleName and FirstName are: = + < > # ; \ "" and space
For it number it is:0 to 9 and ? [ ] + - * ^ # !
Apostrophe character is not allowed I think
