Hello all,
I was wondering if there was a way to define different proxies to different users in different sites.
scenario:
3 sites with each a proxy of their own. Those sites are connected over VPN and share the same domain and therefore the same policies.
Is there a simple way to define a...
Hi All,
I don't know if this is the correct forum to ask this, but I haven't found a topic about this software here...
Forgive me if i didn't look good enough :-)
Is it possible to install this ILM (MS Identity Lifecycle Manager)on a DC? or do i preferably install this on a new and fresh DC...
Thanx for the reply...
What i've changed now (and this works), is that i've made a different LAN ip on a differnet subnet of my LAN on the netgearbox.
I still see the problem with the AD-connection however...
Thing i have to do is make a new AD (new forest, new domain)in the DMZ and make a kind...
Hello all,
I've got a weird situation going on with some netgear Dual-WAN/VPN router
As I said it has 2 WAN-ports.
On WAN 1 I've got a static ip (192.168.4.2), Default GW (192.168.4.1 = cisco ISDN router from ISP).
The LAN-interface has the ip of 192.168.1.1 (that is the scope of our LAN)...
All 3 DC's are already DNS servers. You can not setup AD without DNS...
Each site has it's own DC and DNS server, but when 1 DC fails the other should take over.
In AD-sites and services I already configured the different networks.
Tomorrow I'll try to make them all GC's, first going to read...
Hello,
I've got 3 sites with their DC with DHCP. Each site has it's own fileserver and they are synced with DFS over a VPN-tunnel.
The 3 DC's replicate over the same VPN-tunnels...
Now here's the problem:
When one specific DC (the one with, i guess has all the FSMO-roles) loses it's VPN-tunnel...
Hello,
I was wondering if it was possible to just change the subnetmask of my scope in DHCP (W2K3)
Set the start-ip adress: 192.168.1.1 and set the last ip to 192.168.254.254...
That way i create a subnetmask of 255.255.0.0 (65,534 hosts possible)
Is this a correct way of widening a...
We simply transferred all FSMO roles to another DC.
This wasn't as easy as we thought.
The RID-master role was the one who caused for some frustration.
Eventually we used ntdsutil to transfer the specific RID-role...
It said it failed, but when we checked all was ok...
After that we could...
Ok,
Just ticked every GC-checkbox of the DC's in every site...
Yes we have a single domain forest.
The thing is, that we still have to wait to demote the broken DC. As it still works and everybody needs it to be online.
Keep you posted of our progress..
Thanx for the help, and hopefully...
So if I go in sites and services, and tick the GC-box... that will be ok?
Then I need to demote the broken DC, and promote it again after i have put it in a workgroup.
And tick the GC-box again.
I tick every GC-box in every site?
bandwidth isn't really an issue. but it would be nice to have a...
Hello you all,
Scenario:
3 DC's on 3 different site's/subnets in 1 domain
They are Virtual Machines on a Ubuntu-box.
They all replicated until recently, nothing changed except
that we had to put back a snapshot due to a corrupt file in our VM. it is the same DC, but from a few days back...
Yep,
Thanx for the reply.
That was indeed the cause of the constant replication.
I needed to take it out of the AD.
Going to play a bit more with this...
Thanx,
Greatest Forum, best replies...

1)3 dns / AD on 3 sites ( 1 AD-DC + DNS on each site)
they are connected through VPN
2)1 dns points to the internal webserver in a DMZ in the same site. The other 2 DC's point to the same webserver via the internet. So this means that the same zone on the 3 sites have different A-reords on 2...
Hello,
I've got a question about DNS-zone replication.
We have a domain consisting of 3 sites...
On 1 site we have a webserver in a DMZ and is only accessible for that site via the LAN. The other sites have to go through the internet.
This has something to do with the configuration of the...
@ADGod:
No, I disabled this setting.
But I've managed to fix it!
Very stupid... procedure of creating a profile.
I finally copied the profile of the students over to a new location.
Meaning that I logged in as a student (waited for about 5 min. to login...
Checked if everything worked...
Little update,
We noticed that there is a big timegap somewhere regarding a rundll32...
it takes about 2 to 3 minutes to pass it.
It says:
Libmain: procesname: c:\winnt\system32\rundll32.exe
Finished waiting for :c:\winnt\system32\rundll32.exe c:\winnt\system32\shell32.dll, control_rundll...
Wow...
Sorry for the delay. due to a powersurge our domaincontroller was smoked. Had to rebuild it first.
Anyway,
I enabled the verbose userenv logging and this came out...
You can see the attached file.
I've noticed a MEGA-output, but don't know where to start.
You'll also notice the time...
Thanx for the replies...!
@ADGod
I'll check that within 2 weeks. We've got hollidays at the moment. So I won't be in schoool for about 2 weeks...
I'll keep you posted when I've found something.
@Schtek
Everything is redirected (my docs, start menu and desktop). Teachers also can use any...
Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
I have to dissappoint you.
I've heard about userenv but do not know what to do with it, or how to use it.
For the winlogon the same...
I'll start googling for those.
Maybe you have an idea what to test or...?
Kindest regards,
Stijn
