    Our company has Sungard as a disaster recovery site. They recommended that we use p6-570 machines instead of the current p5-570 machines that we have in house. The question is will mksysb work? Anything to watch out for when restore to a different machine, in this case a p6? Thank you : )

    we are on AIX p670. 5.3 for the operating system. I guess cfgmgr will be step 1.. If I am going to use all 4 as full adapter cards (not sharing them), I would allocate adapter cards(via HMC) as needed to each LPAR. But how do I config the LPAR?

    We need to install network card to our AIX (OS 5.3) machine. We are on the assumption of just plug those cards in and run cfgmgr. But the IBM reps are saying we need to run LPAR also? Just a bit confused... I did some research on the web but didn't find anything useful, can someone point me to...

    Thank you : ) I had to put a space between DJ and itercom.org (e.g. Dj itercom.org). It works great!!!!

    When sending emails to the outside world, aix present itself as d_prod@production1.pdc.itercom.org. This is causing some issue with our e-mail server. So we need to change the name to d_prod@itercom.org... Does any one know how this can be accomplished? Thank you
