    Satellite L300 Recovery

The OS is Vista. The laptop is missed up. It won't reboot (stuck in reboot loop). I tried to use the recovery CD (privided by Toshiba) to go back to factory install. I set it to boot from CD. It looks like it did reboot from the CD. Then the screen went blank. I started to get worried that the...

    W32.downdup.B

As I stated, I used the Symantec removal tool and it said it could not find the virus. I think I found the source machine. I basically stopped the "task scheduler" service (it was set to auto). That machine also had a relativly easy to guess local account, so I changed it to a more complex password.

I have one xp machine and one 2003 server that keep getting attacked by this virus. The rest of the machines I have are apparently OK. Norton virus definitions are all up to date, so Norton real-time is able to intercept it and delete it. The problem is that it keeps trying every some time...

    Norton Ghost alternative?

I was trying to use Norton Ghost from within windows, but it keeps hanging after it reboots the machine into PC-Dos. How to learn serial Communication - hand-On approach

What comm software do you recommend to do the sniffing?. Something like "hyperterminal" maybe? Also given the fact that you don't know the comm protocol yet, how do you pull data from the controller (if it's only set to respond to requests). It's like walking toward a stranger, where you...

I have an ME degree, and I am working in the automation inudstry. Often I find myself trying to solve networking problems, mostly serial communications (RS232, RS485).
