These are established servers and I'm sure at some point over the last couple years I've used an image from one server and ghosted another with that particular image.
This problem is only happening on our Citrix servers. Servers are Dell PE2850, Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 Platinum, Windows 2003 server standard with the latest patches.
We have six servers in our Citrix farm. Every 2-4 weeks, users will start to complain when they launch their Citrix...
Nothing enlightening, but I will keep checking. I'm really curious if it could have had something to do with the antivirus or not. I am giving the change I made a few days and see if we see a reduction in corrupted profiles or not.
We use roaming profiles in our environment. Servers are all W2K3 with Domain Functional Level and Forest Functional Levels at 2003.
I have one server dedicated to housing our roaming profiles. Each person's account in Active Directory points to this server under the Terminal Services Profile...
Thanks IllogicallyLogical.
The page file settings were set at "Custom 2048 Initial, 4092 Max". Page file was located on C drive. I changed the min and max to both be 4092. I left the page file on C since the main data share is D. D is where I create/change/delete files.
I will defrag the D...
I just opened Performance from the Administrative Tools Group. Right away, there are three monitors running as follows:
1. Pages/sec in blue. Every second the graph is bouncing between 60% - 100% and 80% - 100%.
2. Ave. Disk Queue Length in green. Every second it is going from 0% to 100%...
I have one Windows 2003 server that just started acting up. The log files are clean, so I need some direction as where to look.
Several weeks ago, out of the blue, the server started acting in the following manner:
1. When clicking on a folder, then pressing Delete key or right-clicking and...
If you have admin privileges locally on the computer, there is no reason you cannot edit the registry and add the line.
Not sure what else to say. If the line wasn't there yo can add it. If the line was there, you can edit it and do what I did. Recheck to make sure you are logged in with...
Well, I had the same issue. I could start it by manually running VPTray.exe, but upon reboot the icon would be gone again in the task tray.
Once I changed my registry to look exactly like the screenshot I have above (including the quotes), my issues were gone and the icon returned after reboot...
I am running Exchange Server 2003 with SP2. I'm also running Outlook 2007 as a client. About a month ago, I started getting errors in my Outlook Sync Issues folder:
"14:48:03 Synchronizer Version 12.0.4518
14:48:03 Synchronizing Mailbox 'My Name'
14:48:03 Done
14:48:03 Microsoft Exchange offline...
Success!!
I changed the registry entry and added quotes around the path. I also specified the exact path instead of using a truncated path.
I now have the antivirus shield showing up by the clock correctly and no strange popup Windows Explorer windows.
I did this on both computers I was...
I am using Symantec Enterprise 10.2 (10.1.5). Upon installing the client, either by a push from the Symantec System Center, or from a manual install of the client at the machine, after the machine reboots, a Windows Explorer window pops up for "C:\PROGRA~1\Symantec"
After the program...
FYI:
On a different forum, I was referred to a program called Look@LAN: http://www.lookatlan.com. I've also emailed their Sales Department and they state this software will do what we are looking for.
To user TFG13: It is a Windows Domain, but I'm not referring to adding computers specifically to the domain. I'm looking beyond the domain. If you read my OP, I stated I wanted something to monitor the network and notify when a "new hardware device is detected on the network". Something...
I was looking for a tool for my Windows network, similar to ARPWatch for UNIX.
I basically want a program that will monitor the network and email me when a new hardware device is detected on the network. The email would include information like the MAC, NetBIOS name, etc. I would also like the...
