DROP INDEX Bill_Cycle_ID
ON BI_DM_7.Snapshot_Revenue_By_Bill_Cycle;
and I am getting the following error message:
6952: Indexes cannot be created or dropped during random AMP sample emulation.
I have never seen this error message before.

Currently we are using Informatica 7.1.3 and Teradata V2R5.2 . Now a days we are in process of upgrading our Database to V2R6.1. But we have heard that Informatica 7.1.3 doesnt support Teradata V2R6.1.
I am not really sure about it as we haven't encountered any issue in testing so far...

Most of the places we use staging area or something called staging tables built in the target warehouse only.
But most of the times these staging tables have one-to-one with their corresponding source tables.
Therefore most the validation will be done on target...
One of the way , you can make sure that the data is correct by writing some SQL queries to make sure that the data loaded in the correponsding tables is in accordance with the business rules defined in the mapping.
I havent heard of any functional testing tool for Informatica.
If you are running Informatica Server on windows based machine, another place to check is to make sure that your Oracle Services are also up and running before your start your Informatica Server
No, you cannt explicitly rollback in Teradata.
You can set it specifically while using BTEQ ,where you can use Begin Transaction (BT) and End Transaction (ET) commands.
