I am trying to truncate one field in a table, however the field size is variable (the character lengths are 13, 14 and 15 characters long). What I was wondering is how I would truncate this field in Access so it takes just the last four characters?

After many days of research a tech at my client site reinstalls Windows XP Service Pack 2 and everything is fine, forms design properly and no other issues. Wow, who would have thought. But I just wanted to update this thread with my resolution and thanks to all those who helped.

The Database compiles fine. I tried the copy of the empty form and that does not seem to be the issue at all. We just had a computer refresh here and it might be a symptom of that new image on my machine. The tech is currently re-installing SP2 for Windows XP to see if it is not a local...
Thanks Ed, I believe your assumption is correct. I created and new database and imported all my objects and the same issue is present. I believe it must be a MS Office installation problem and a complete reinstall might be neccessary.
Thanks Darrylle, is it advisable to drag and drop from my existing database to the new one? Or go through the export/import process for all my objects?
