The Compaq SSD is the server software for your Compaq servers. It contains the most recent Compaq-specific drivers, etc. If you are not using this, you really should be. I would definitely reccommend that you try re-applying the SSD and rebooting. You may find this to fix your issues.- SterlingIdeas

Are you by any chance running on Compaq server equipment? I saw this same problem when we re-applied NT SP4 on one of our servers. The problem persisted until we re-applied the SSD to update the drivers from the service pack. This behavior was the exact manifestation I saw. I have even...- SterlingIdeas
