I hate the ftp in Dw. I'm on a 56k connection, yes, but dreamweaver seems not to care if you know what's going on or not, the display goes blank and if you're lucky you get some idea of what file it's doing in the status bar, but that's if you are very lucky.

Im' not too sure about the server admin side of things, but shouldn't it be easy enough to just reference the actual path because the virtual directory maps to an existing real directory on the server anyway?
I had the same problem, thought i found a solution but it didn't work. it uses escape characters but doesn't seem to work anyway:
http://developer.netscape.com/viewsource/husted_mailto/mailto.html
couple simple things that might be problems: you're missing an inverted comma and you've got the mailto link wrong:
response.write("<a href=""mailto:"" & (recordset1.fields.item(""email"").Value)" & "> TO email click here </a>")

ok ok sorry.
Right: What Christian gave you was a subroutine, or a function that doesn't 'return' anything. It just does something, in this case it writes out the file to the screen, and tidies up after itself.
Why did he use a subroutine? Because he might want to do it more than once, with...
Right, I had a proper look at it, only thing was I had to make sure I saved the template after making the changes, whereupon it asks me for updates, you then make the appropriate selections, it goes through and changes the files, even if they are open, and you have to save them again if they...
Sorry, excuse me for being dumb. So when you checked the code on your computer, it was updated? Or not? pardon me, not quite getting what's happening there.
Not too sure about this one, also a newbie, but I think it would be something like:
<%
'option explicit '(whatta pain)
ReadDisplayFile("content.txt")
'This is the bit you need to change, not the subroutine that Christian wrote-leave that nice bit of code alone...
Is the code updated on the server? If not then you might want to try manually uploading it, but this is a pain I'm sure.
If it isn't, you've tried refreshing the browser haven't you? ; )
