Hi exmogger, thanks for your post. We used to have a BCM50 in our office with SIP trunks but my need now is because I sell quite a few BCM50s to a company that needs them to have analogue trunks licenced on the systems. I could go down the path of using an expansion chassis and GTAM but that...
Thanks ipohead there's some useful sfuff in there, thanks for the info.
Curlycord - GATMs are quite difficult to get in the UK now, but that would work if I could find them, thanks for the thought.
Thanks curlycord. I'm pretty sure I've put an analogue licence onto a BRI system in the past but it didn't work. I've spoken to firebirdscrambler who I think you know and he reckons the motherboards are a different build! He says if you run the correct Zoc script([root@bcmm50r3 etc]# cat...
I've got a number of the above systems. They are the ones that have 2 ISDN2 ports in the front. Has anyone managed to remove the ISDN2 circuitry and get analogue lines to work on them? I've so far tried it with one. I took out the daughterboard behind the ISDN2 ports. The system went through the...
Thanks for the help from both of you. In the end I couldn't easily get hold of the SSD mentioned in Firebird's note, however, the company I use for hard drives also stocks SSDs and they suggested an alternative - this one - SSDSC2BB160G4 INTEL 160GB SATA 6G 7MM SSD. I had one delivered yesterday...
Got it thanks. How long ago is it that you posted your guide Firebird? I have a customer who wants SSDs in the BCMs we supply so i need to find one that is both current and will work.
Has anyone used an SSD instead of a hard drive in either a BCM50 or 450? If so can you advise what type you used. I understand that not all makes and types will work.
Hi Curlycord. Thanks for persevering with this!
My apologies you have mentioned .bcm before but I didn't pick up on it. Yes, it does exist and there are files in it. The problem has been the icon on my desktop does not have a path name associated with it. Why I didn't do that before I don't...
32 bit - this one - jre-8u25-windows-i586-iftw.
As mention previously, if I go to sipsw to download and install EM it doesn't install but it does give me EM to use for one occasion. As soon as I close it I have to go back to sipsw and and go through the process again. However, when I have EM...
Update. I uninstalled Java 8.171 and installed instead 8.25 which I know works with BCM. Sadly it didn't make any difference.
I did notice, looking at the log file after I had done this, that a copy of EM and Monitor is downloaded to a temporary file but clearly it does not go on to install...
Although I have done the tweak on Java I was wondering whether there might be something else in Java which is blocking the install. So I have been checking through stuff which might be related to this problem and come across what is called launcher.log which looks as though it is a log of what...
I'm using 8.171 and have done the tweak on it to remove occurrences of MD5. It does work if I open EM from sipsw.com using IE so I know the tweak works. EM just won't install either from sipsw or from the copy of EM I have on my PC.
I've been away for the weekend so just catching up on posts.
Thanks for your post AvayaHE. I did try it in XP compatibility mode but no joy. The BCM Application Launcher splash screen appears followed by the Application Launcher Point screen where is loads then validates. It goes through all of...
Sorry, it is a fresh install of windows 10 onto a new hard drive.
I am beginning to wonder whether perhaps EM is not compatible with W10. I can't get PCM to work either. I thought I had heard that EM does work with W10 32 bit but perhaps I have got that wrong.
Yes, I'm using IE 11. This is very strange and really don't understand it. I've tried right clicking the copy of EM on my PC and installing it with administrator right but that doesn't make any difference. I've also tried compatibility mode as I know it works in W7 but that didn't work either...
Hi. When I double click the EM link nothing happens. There are no files or folders named BCM in program files or elsewhere. I have done a search and nothing comes up apart from PCM. I am sure it is not installing. Somehow it works if I download it from sipsw just for a single session but once...
Yes, I have a shortcut but no files. If you right click on icon and click on 'open file location' nothing is found - no folder or files - you just get the message 'windows can't find target'. I have a Nortel folder containing LANCTE stuff and an Avaya folder with Personal Call Manager in it but...
I have recently had to upgrade my PC as my previous one was dying (windows 7 32 bit). I now have a 32 bit windows 10 PC but I can't install Element Manager. I have tried to install it from bcm.sipsw.com/ApplicationLauncher/, from the hard drive of our BCM50 release 6 and from a copy of the most...
You're right. I was think more in terms of using 7 as an access digit. This came up because the original account number I was given began with a 9 and we are using 9 as an access digit as many people do. Using a sinlg digit rules out using it elsewhere. That is what I had in mind but you are...
