How to add another DNS server to the domain?

Hi guys, I'm quite new to DNS so please bear with me. I've come to a new environment which already has 2 DNS servers in place. I have added a new DC to a new site which also requires DNS to be configured and I'm not sure how to do it. By the way, all servers are running 2003 and is in AD...

    Tape to tape copy

Hi guys, I have 3 LTO tapes I need to take copies of but have no idea how (am using Veritas 12.5). I've had a look under duplicating backed up data, but I don't completely follow. I only have 1 drive so I assume it will write the data to disk and then to tape... Any help would be much appreciated.

    NTbackup and cataloging a tape

Hi guys, I'm trying to restore some files from a tape which was used in another server (is now dead). The backup was done using NTbackup. I put the tape in and it appears in the media pools under IMPORT. I added the tape to the "backup media pool" and told it to catalog. A window pops up saying...

Terminal Server 2003 - You do not have access to logon to this session

Thanks TechyMcSe2k! The second link you provided did it. It seems that although the license server was itself it couldn't find itself??!! Crazy. I added the regkey pointing it to the license server (itself) and it let me in!! What a mess. Greatly appreciate your help. Thanks pal.

Terminal Server 2003 - You do not have access to logon to this session

One other thing, I just checked the event log and saw this: The terminal server could not locate a license server. Confirm that all license servers on the network are registered in WINS/DNS, accepting network requests, and the Terminal Server Licensing Service is running. What the? The license...

Terminal Server 2003 - You do not have access to logon to this session

Having a look in the TS Licensing screen, it lists the server with a status of "activated". When I expand it I see this: Product = Existing Windows 2000 server - Terminal Services CAL token (per device) Type = built-in Total = unlimited Available = unlimited Issued = 0 Does this look right?

Yep, checked it and it is ticked. Surely it's not this complicated?! Could something have gone astray?

    Disconnect DRAC5 active session

Hi guys, I've got a DELL 1900 server in a remote location with a DRAC5 card installed. I made a connection to it yesterday which worked fine but doesn't seem to have disconnected properly. It now says 2 active sessions and doesn't allow me to reconnect. There is nobody else connecting to this...

    Scan hard disk for errors?

It's an LTO2 tape drive. I reduced the amount of data that needs to be backed up to see if it made a difference and it did. I only backed up a very small portion of the server but it did work. It seems to fail at around the 200GB mark every time. I only backed up 10GB this time. I'll try...

    Scan hard disk for errors?

Hi, the event log is pretty clean until the crash. I am using Veritas backup exec 11D rev 7170. I've noticed a new version of BackupExec is out (v12). Might try updating and see what happens. It may also be a problem with the tape drive, which I'll need to check.

    Scan hard disk for errors?

I should probably elaborate a little. The server ONLY crashes during the backup process. I'm using Veritas Backup exec and when it reaches around the 200GB mark of backed up data in crashes. The exact error report in the event log is: Error code 00000077, parameter1 c000000e, parameter2...

    Scan hard disk for errors?

The server is running Server2003. Every so often it will crash with an error of "Error code 00000077, parameter1 c000000e, parameter2 c000000e, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 005da000." I did some checking on it and it's a little vague. It could be a few things but points towards a hard disk...

    Scan hard disk for errors?

Unfortunately I don't have physical access to the server. All work must be done remotely. Is there no utility out there which will scan the HDs for bad sectors?

    Scan hard disk for errors?

Hi, I only have remote access to the server when Windows is running. However, I do have ServeRAID manager installed and the status of all drives is Online. Is there a utility which will scan through the drives for corrupt/bad sectors?
