Hi there, thank you for your explanation! Turning on compression in the local settings for the drive and selecting preferences to compress data ended in a failed backup again. Hi, the tapes are hpdds-4 and are only capable of 40gb upon compression (20 capable of 40). When the data is being written, the tape is being erased before hand so that it is completely blank (quick erase plus).I've noticed the hardware compression had been turned off and maybe this is the...- gedley
