    Setting path through logon scripts

I would like to add network drives to user's path so that commands from network drives can be used from any location similar to Novell's search drive mapping. How can I do this in an MS 2000 environment through logon scripts? Thanks, John C.

    Hiding volume and server name.

If I map root the users, they won't be able to go back from that directory. To some of the older users that would be like saying the world isn't flat. JohnC.

    Hiding volume and server name.

I guess I could do that. You know how it is with some people though, if you change how something looks they loose it, even if the functionality is still there. Oh well, if I come up with a registry hack to hide the server info I will certainly post it here. Thanks to all for the help. JohnC.

    Hiding volume and server name.

Zelandakah's interpretation of the problem is absolutely correct. The reason why I'm having such a tough time is that I am using NetWare Cluster services and I am mapping users to virtual servers, which naming strategy follows the syntax: "Clustername_Volumename_Server" So renaming...

    Hiding volume and server name.

That would allow me to hide the drive etirely, but what I am trying to do is show the drive letters, and hide the server and volume info. Reason being is that the server and volume name are so long that when a menu displays server and volume name, the drive letter is right off the menu on the...

    Hiding volume and server name.

Does anyone know how I could hide the server and volume name for each network drive from being displayed through My Computer, but not the drive letter? When users open docs in Word, they hit the dropdown menu to select a drive and the volume and server name is so long that the drive letter is...

    Cluster Services 1.01

Does anyone know if there is a way to properly install ZENworks2 with NWCS 1.01 so that the database can be used from whatever cluster node has NSS volume mounted. The documentation for ZEN and clusters from Novell is completely wrong according to the rare amount of people I have found in this...

    CNE Certification

Does anyone know if there are any exemptions for the CNE 5.1 track? For instance, if you have Network Technologies for Novell, I think your exempt from Net Essentials for Microsoft MCSE. Is it the same vice-versa?

Hello everyone, I am installing NW cluster services 1.01 for two NW

Hello everyone, I am installing NW cluster services 1.01 for two NW5.1 servers. The problem I have is that all the documentation by Novell, online and offline, is so unspecific that I don't know how to set up the raids I have in a storage unit in between. I don't know whether they should be...

Hello people, I recently moved from an NT environment to Win98, doe

Sorry folk, I guess I should have been more specific, I am actually looking for a remote shutdown tool. There is one with NT resource kit that shuts down a workstation or server when you give the name, seconds to shutdown, a screen message, and you can also specify whether you would like it to...

    Fiber trouble

I am using V-45 ended fiber with gemflex NIC's and a volition switch. Though I should be seeing 100mb, it is significantly slower than the token ring that I am replacing. The fiber is 50 micron and I'm not quite sure if the cable is working properly with the gemflex NIC's and volition switch...

    Win98 doesn't shut down

    Win98 doesn't shut down

I just started supporting Win98SE whereas before I was supporting NT wkst. Why the hell does it choose to hang on the shutting down screen about once every 6 or 7 shutdowns. Are there any known fixes?

    Win2K logoff issue

I am running RC2 and whenever I want to logoff I have to do a ctrl-alt-del then logoff, instead of start then logoff. If I do start then logoff it will stay grey until I click on the screen then I'm back to square one again. Not a severe situation, but a pain. Does anyone know of a fix?

    Account lockouts

I have noticed that throughout the last week there has been a lot of account lockouts on the network for users with little rights and administrators. I have a feeling that the accounts are being locked out because of some flaw and not a security breech. Is there anything that would cause this...

NT Server freezes after a few hours.

Nope. I still have a feeling that it might be a relation to having SQL on a FAT partition.

Is there any reason why it would crash though?
