Ok, I (actually, a certain awesome lady at IBM support) was able to pinpoint the problem. Occasionally, if an absolute path is not specified when calling the application, the batch adapter "hicups" and failes to call it. So, simply specifying the path name in the batch file cured the problem.
OllyC, thanks for the explanation! I'll definely open a ticket and see if I can get a patch to address this. Question though, can I set a "timeout" in the .ini file? Specifcally,
IdleFTP=1
;SLimFTP=0
;HLimFTP=0
;MinFTP=0
Or do I need a KEEPxxx parameter?
6.7.1 Win2K
I was hoping I someone could shed some light on this issue. One of our trading partner's server was down. We could connect, but it would just be waiting for a response.
Anyway, the FTP map for this system did not fail, rather it just hung in the management console. Not only...
I see you are a UNIX man. :-)
We're Windows 2000 on 6.7.1 and bounce the service every 4 days or so out of necessity. But I am trying to get a regular schedule of weekly re-boots and cycling the service every other day just to get rid of cached errors, memory etc.
Hi eyetry, yes, I ran it to generate the audit log on error. The error was:
<TargetReport card="1" adapter="Batch File" bytes="0" adapterreturn="-6">
<Message>Error Executing Command (Return Code 255)</Message>
<Settings>-cmd 'e:\ec\appint\decrptACS.bat
This map just triggers...
6.7.1 Win2K
I have a map that calls gpg.exe via the batch adapter. It frequently fails....but simple redropping the file for it to trigger again works. Well, I turned the audit log on for when it errors and got a 255. What does that mean?
<MercatorMapAudit StartTime="13:52:48 July 25...
Hi,
This is my first FTP from the mainframe. Can I have some help with my statement?
Basically, here is the dataset:
CFMSMP.T12610.CLUE.AUTO.JUNE06.FORTEST
Once they drop the trigger, my code looks like this so far:
RUN("RUN_FTP.mmc", "-IAFTP1 '-T -URL...
OllyC, with the file adapter (output), does Mercator internally write files with a .tmp extension first then rename when complete or just write the file as is and build it in the output directory?
I set it to 9999 because of exactly what you said....large file and newtork problems due to load during the day.
That alleviated the "source not available" problems, but I still get the "76" errors.
Question, the map (Decrypt2MF.mmc) is output = None.
I changed it to output = input. It still...
So, the physical memory will grow if I had a memeory leak?
And how come the cache just grows, but never goes down unless I restart the service or reboot?
And I always like your opinion, so I can I set the virtual memory to be higher and to what setting?
6.7.1 Win2K 3.7 GB 2(hyper threaded) CPUS
Hi, I have a question about the physical memory view in task on manager on our prod server. Currently, the stats are as follows:
Total: 3.9GB
Physical: 3.26GB
System Cache: 3.35GB
The system cache continually grows over time. Is this because f the...
And on a side note, I can not reporduce this problem in Development. It only happens in production and they are identical! I beleive the root of the problem (76 erros) is gnupg...we are on version 1.0. However, in the meantime, I was hoping this back-up thing would work.
6.7.1 Win2K
My back-up on error doesn’t always work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. Is this normal? Basically, I grab a file on source event, call a decryption batch script via the batch adapter and decrypt the file. 1 out of 10 times the map fails with a “76” - Failed to put to...
Well, easy is relative. :-) These are all production systems and changing the encryption method would require retesting. We would have to re-swap keys etc. right?
Do you have an example of option two? Could I add a retry? This is because GPG.exe commonly failes when it is busy.
So, we use GNUPG to encrypt/decrypt. We call the batch script from the map using the batch adapter. The problem is, the subsequent map that processes the file commonly gets a "12" or source not available. Evidence is leaning towards gpg.exe taking too long to decrypt/encrypt. Does anyone...
6.7.1 on Win2k - 2 CPU (4 hyper threaded) @ 2.8ghz
We have a lot of FTP puts and gets. I've tried to spread out the calls via the time triggers, but a few times in a day, about 40 individual non related Maps will be executing at once on the management console.
However, normally throughout the...
