I had similar experience on a test lab, unfortunately not the same routers.
Anyway, The scenario was between two 2600 series routers. Where r1 was providing clocking to r2, it seemed to give the same scenario you described.
Admittedly r1, had a 'router to a stick' layout configured to it...
Sorry Burt & uncle, the config for TP2 was slightly incorrect.
So I'll post it again, as it includes Burts idea. Though I've not set an IP address on the SVI, yet traffic is passing fine.
Just as I've got one thing sussed, my Frame relay scenario has decided to fall over. I think its an option...
Unclerico thanks, just as you mentioned the firewall, I enabled it & it worked thanks.
As for my second query, I do not have a Frame relay switch included within the scenario,
but here is my TP1 config as the TP1 is in the original post...
Can anyone one help.
I've been messing about with the router on a stick concept & trying to intergrate to it
with a Frame Relay (P2P later);
PC ------> SW --------> TP2 -- Frame Relay ----> TP1
I can ping TP2 (gateway) from my PC, but cannot ping back to PC, why is this?
Also why can't...
Burt I was checking out the forum in more depth & found that your link no longer works;
http://www.ciscozine.com/2008/09/29/how-to-analyze-traffic-with-span-feature/
Good news Burtbees..it WORKS!!!
Thanks for hanging in there..As per usual, it was a user error.
Some how I lost the config the frame relay connection, so stripped it back & rebuilt the confing & I have Frane relay connection & internet connection..YESSS!!!
Even when I ran ;sh ip route
You...
How did you manage to resolve your problem?
I was doing some studying the other day & came across this concept; Reflexive Access List & on my travels seen this config:- h**p://itdaddy.wordpress.com/2008/05/19/windows-vpn-config-in-cisco-2600-series-router/
I hope it helps
I'm not sure what context you're using the ACL 100 for, but I believe it won't work as its been placed under a permit statement;
access-list 1 remark INSIDE_IF=Vlan1
access-list 1 remark SDM_ACL Category=2
access-list 1 permit 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.255
access-list 100 remark SDM_ACL Category=2...
Thanks Burt for all your help so far.
Anyway here are the details as per request.
But before you ponder through it I'll answer a few of your questions.
The configs below are the status the routers are in now,
Testpod2 - DTE
Testpod1 - DCE
The reason why Testpod2 has a sub interface, I was...
Here you go...(Would Point to Point cause this same issue to??)
**** Please note that I've currently disconnected Testpod 2 & remove the connection to the internet, so that I can talk to you****
Testpod2#sh ip int brief
Interface IP-Address OK? Method Status...
Not configured a frame relay switch yet, but I will. Need to get my hands on a old 2500, which is currently on the other side of the country.
Will forward config details in a mo'
I've just finished putting together a Frame relay scenario on my routers & then decided to add the ethernet of my 1760 to the internet, which worked fine.
My query is, why did the Seial links drop once I sucessfly had a IP assigned to the ethernet port, from the SP.
Please in mind that I have...
Sorry Burts bees, went for the option that Belushi suggested;
interface Serial0
frame-relay switching
ip address 192.168.2.101 255.255.255.0
encapsulation frame-relay
clockrate 128000
frame-relay map ip 192.168.2.102 220 broadcast
frame-relay intf-type dce
no frame-relay inverse-arp...
Awesome guys!!
Post your posts got me thinking.
Burts got me thinking on the vibe that the SP's out there are not just fluffy clouds!
Belushi's breakdown is brain cell saving (& money)
THANKS AGAIN...Got it working too..Brill
