Is there a way to see a log file of DN's? I want to be able to see how often our field i2004's are going up and done. Is there a log file that would show me this?
Hello all,
Thanks to all the help on this board, I was able to get my contivities up and working.
I know have a contivity 1010 at HQ as a responder, and 1050's at homes as initiators.
I was able to get them to work behind the linksys routers as well.
The only thing I see now is that the...
Hello all,
I'm having a problem getting some IPSEC tunnels up. Basicly I setup HQ 1010 as an initiator and use BOQS on the remote contivity 1050's.
At HQ we have a sprint 645 modem in bridge mode. We have 4 static sprint IP's. So the 645 is plugged into a cisco 12 port switch. The 1010...
Well I have that tunnel working at the office now,
This weekend I went home and popped a 1050 into my linksys. I configured the public side of the 1050 to be 192.168.1.53, and the private side of the 1050 is my 192.168.3.xx So I went into the HQ 1010 and setup a network for "Chrishome" and...
the first static route is removed? As in I have to go back into the bcm and reenter what blackcuervo put? That seems odd.
Or does the route just go down because the bcm is down. I'm confused at how the static route would be removed.
only issue I see with going on the private side of the linksys is that all of the linksys routers are set to the 192.168.1.X networks. But technically that shouldn't matter because of the linksys NAT and that the private sides of the contivities will all be 192.168.3.X 192.168.4.X and so on...
BlackCuervo, that did it. Phone came right up once i entered that into the BCM.
Now the next part of my project is to implement this at all the salesguys homes.
I'm thinking that the 1050's should be in between the dsl/cable modems and their linksys routers. My only concern with this is...
I currently have a contivity 1010 setup at hq and a contivity 1050 at a home. I created an IPsec tunnel that appears to be working correctly.
From the house (a 192.168.1.x network) I can open an IE window and type in 192.168.2.2 (server at HQ private address) and it pulls up the server. But I...
I can't figure out how to edit or add to a post either. lol
I think my problem is with the IP addressing. My HQ is based on 192.168.2.xx address's, and the 1050 on the other end has 192.168.1.xx address's. With the tunnel up I can't ping anyone on the other side of the tunnel because of this...
it actually appears if the tunnel is now up. I have internet access on both ends and the tunnel says successful. But the I2004 is not connecting.
How do i verify that the tunnel is actually up? And do I need to do anything with port forwarding or anything for the i2004?
I got the DNS setting correct now. As far as the NAT rule. It's using the default Private to Public that the contivity had setup.
One odd thing I just noticed. in the admin/tools, I can ping www.yahoo.com but I have to specify the source, it will ping from either the public IP or the...
I just noticed that on the one contivity box I can only ping in house machines. And the machines that are connecting through the tunnel. however I can't ping anything out on the net, ie.. www.google.com.
It does however translate www.google.com to the IP address...
PING www.google.com...
because there are 7 homes all together and all of them already linksys routers. i already have a pile of 1050's sitting next to me. Why spend more money??
Can anyone tell from this event log what is going on? I seem to be able to get a tunnel to connect and stay connected. it even pass the...
not putting down your opinion.
Just curious which way really is easier.
I've got some things to try with the linksys in front of the contivity. If they don't work, the next step is to put the contivity in front. So we'll see.
And then setup split tunneling and all that crap? That doesn't sound like it makes a lot sense on the configuration side.
All the contivity 1050's are doing is creating a VPN tunnel for the I2004 phones. Why pass everything else through it.
My life is already not easy, so if you think that...
so far with BlackCuervo's help, I have the contivity 1010 at HQ all configured. And the IPSec VPN appears to be ready.
No the problem I have is that all the home users are using either DSL or Cable. Attached to their modems are wireless routers. Pretty much all dishing out 192.168.1.X...
How do I send you a copy. Don't see how to get your email address.
That basic scheme, is this.
Sprint ADSL modem, we have 4 Static IP's. The ADSL modem is plugged into a 5 port 10/100 switch. Off this switch we have a Netopia R9100 which supplies our HQ Internet, and forwards over to our...
I don't mind doing that. But what I need to find some sort of how to write up or something.
I have abou 8 nortel contivity 1050's, and 3 contivity 1010's. The 1010's have 30 user licenses on them.
We have our head quarters (with BCM400), a remote sales office, and then 6 remote sales...
Actually just informed that we are also getting a whole bunch of norterl 1050's.
So we are going to implent the 1050's to all the remote sales homes.
But I'm still unsure of how to setup the VPN's. And what the best option to use is with most people having comcast service. Seems that their...
