Rebuilding an NT server to different hardware
Best way to do this is to install a fresh NT to a different directory when prompted i.e. WINTMP instead of WINNT.Then install your archival software. You can then restore the backup from the tape - without problems associated with locked files etc which would normally not allow a rebuild...- BIKERBOY

Office - links in documents changed
Dear All Problem - on one of our domains the users have non standard drive mappings. We would like to standardise the drive mappings by using logon scripts. This is fine but many users have excel and access files with links to other documents - these are not UNC links they are lettered drives...- BIKERBOY

User Desktop Icon Error
Dear all can you help? I have just removed a desktop machine from domain A to domain B. when the existing user logs on to the machine for the 1st time (in the new domain) they get the log on script OK but as the icons are added to the desktop, or run, they come up with an error box asking for...- BIKERBOY
