I now notice that my signal strength is always "good" and it is my signal queality and speed that drop off.....if I bring my laptop closer the AP my signal strength becomes Excellent and my speed dropoff still occurs but not so drastic ..54 to 36 or 21.....
interference?
The signal stays "excellent 54" until I actually use the internet. It will then drop after a few minutes to "good 1" and occasional rise to very good 5.5 - 11.0 .
I do have an outback power inverter nearby running my solar system. Could this have something to do with it?
Any other options?
I went into properties of adapter and changed the automatic power settings to manual (maximum) and switched to wireless g only...it then kicked into excellent mode and hasnt dropped yet...probably just the power mode right? not the b-g thing?
osa
What sort of devices would interfere...wireless mouse?
.
I have a wifi phone, but turned it off and still have the same thing.
There is only one access point in our area and my neighbor and I share it one computer each.......
Internal Adapter starts with excellent signal at 54 mbps than drops to good at 1mbps...if i switch off adapter and turn back on it hits excellent signal again...after 3 minutes drops again....????
