    I need to allow a user to ftp a file to a directory on our unix machine that is not her own directory. Furthermore, for THAT directory ONLY, I would like her to only have FTP access. I'm a database person and new to sys admin. I appreciate any help. gert

    Not read only, but thanks for your thoughts. I've since learned that we're using catalogs 'as delivered' from our vendor. I'm waiting for a reply from them about what I can do.
