Is it possible to export or recreate Painter brushes in Photopaint? Can libraries be exported from one Corel application to another or can the brushes be recreated or copied in some way?
The mask/feather method attrofy posted is the classic way to do that effect (mask the half you want to light, feather the mask) but for all effects...
I mask/select the portion I want to "effect"
I copy/paste as new object or selection with a transparent background
Apply effects to that object...

That is the old hard way..using the lasso tool..but it works best...
I was wondering if there wasn't a way to set the magic wand to do a better job..or maybe the magic wand is doing a better job..a bit too right and tight..
I will keep playing with it ..see if I can get a looser, thus...
I have problems getting clear and accurate mask selections in PhotoPaint..I like PhotoPaint, the mouse drawing precision is very good but the masking..

I used the magic wand set at 1-10 (5 seemed to be ideal)..I set the mode to Normal and painted over the masked...
The new Painter 9.5 upgrade can be downloaded. I have done this 3 times and it is a very large file but it won't open. I click on the saved file and Painter opens the graphic in Painter 9.1 but no upgrade. I tried "open" rather than save..and it didn't work..
The execute file is either missing...
